Veteran's Ribbon

Yellow Ribbon School and Post-911 GI Bill

澳门六合彩历史记录 is a proud member of the Yellow Ribbon program. You can take advantage of the veterans鈥 benefit program for college education named the Post-911 GI Bill (Chapter 33), as well as the Yellow Ribbon program that corresponds with the bill.

Chapter 33 recipients may qualify for up to 36 months of benefits, including tuition and fees, money for housing, books and supplies. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows institutions of higher learning to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund (Chapter 33) tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and the VA will match the same amount. Kettering holds this agreement with the VA.

GI Bill is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at听.听

Military Tuition Assistance 听

This policy applies only to students receiving Military Tuition Assistance (TA).听 TA is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded.听 When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.听 To comply with Department of Defense (DOD) policy, 澳门六合彩历史记录 will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided.听 TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period.听 Any unearned TA funds 鈥 based upon when a student stops attending 鈥 will be returned directly to the military service from which the funds were provided, not to the service member.

In instances when a service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, 澳门六合彩历史记录 will work with the affected service member to identify solutions that will not result in a student debt for the returned TA funds in compliance with the DOD policy.

Withdrawal Liability Chart听

Effective Withdrawal Date Return of TA %听听 TA % Earned
Before or during Week 1听 听 100%听 0%
Week 2听听听听 听 75%听 25%
Week 3 50%听听 50%
Weeks 4 鈥 7听 25% 75%
Weeks 8 - 11听听 0% 100%

For courses that have durations differing from the above:听 Unearned TA funds will be returned on a prorated basis, depending on the length of the student鈥檚 enrollment for the term.听 To determine the amount of TA that needs to be returned, the institution will determine the date the withdrawal was submitted, and then divide that number by the number of days in the term to determine the percentage of TA that was earned by the student.
