COVID-19 Guidelines

We encourage all members of the Kettering community to follow behaviors on and off campus that protect themselves and others from serious infection while the University continues to monitor聽COVID-19 conditions.

Face Covering

Masks remain an effective measure for enhanced personal protection against the spread of聽COVID-19, especially for individuals who have a compromised immune status, who are not up-to-date on their聽COVID-19 vaccinations, or who have an increased risk of contracting聽COVID-19.聽

Wearing a mask is optional in all areas on campus except the Wellness Center.

Anyone may choose to wear a mask at any time.聽Masks are available at the Campus Safety office.

Vaccinations & Boosters

Vaccinations and boosters are encouraged but not mandatory. The University does not provide them. You may obtain them at local area pharmacies.

Experiencing Symptoms

If you begin to experience symptoms while on campus, find a space to isolate yourself (empty room, etc.) then contact us 聽to help you determine the next steps:聽

STUDENTS:聽Contact the Wellness Center immediately at (810) 762-9650

FACULTY and STAFF:聽Contact Human Resources immediately at (810) 762-9933.

If you begin to experience聽COVID-19 symptoms聽or have tested positive for聽COVID-19聽while off campus:

Faculty/Staff

  • Stay home and begin聽isolation/quarantine聽until provided with further advice from your physician and direction from the University.
  • 聽Notify your supervisor immediately.
  • 聽Notify Human Resources at聽iputnam@kettering.edu聽or (810)聽762-9933.

Students

  • Stay home and begin聽isolation/quarantine聽until provided with further advice from your physician and direction from the University.
  • Notify the Wellness Center at (810) 762-9650.

Exposed but聽Asymptomatic

If you are asymptomatic but have been exposed to someone who tested positive for聽COVID-19.

Report your exposure to:

Employees: Email Human Resources聽or call聽(810) 762-9933.聽

Students: Call the Wellness Center聽at (810) 762-9650.

You may continue to come to campus and do most everyday activities as long as you follow these聽steps:

  • Wear a well-fitted mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times when around others for聽10 days聽following your most recent exposure.聽
  • Get tested 3-7 days following exposure. If you do test positive or develop symptoms, report your results to the appropriate聽office.聽聽
  • Maintain social distance when around others, particularly vulnerable individuals.聽
  • Self-monitor for . If you should have any of these聽symptoms in the next 10 days, stay home, isolate yourself off campus and away from others.聽 Contact the appropriate office for聽COVID-19 related reporting
